Nice set up VGO.
53 almost 54 years old and I've never owned a .270. Well that was until a couple of weeks ago.
Bought an Interarms (Zastava) Mark X 1970's vintage and am looking forward to working up loads for it.
What is working for you load wise?

I've always been a big fan of 130gr winchester ballistic silvertip. I started with a copy of that load and thats the photo you see above. Im going to stick with this setup on the wives rifle, seems to like it. Should do her well on her first hunt this year

For my 270 (also an old 721) I'm going to work up a load with a barnes bullet as I feel it will have better odds against the elk I'm planning to hunt.
Gotta really like those classic rifles such as your 721. Oh hubba hubba.
I have good friends that, as hard to believe as it may sound, refuse to hunt with push feed rifles. Whatever. I do not have that mind set as I hunt with both push feed and CRF.
I use Barnes bullets in a few other rifles too include one chambered in 303 British.
But back to the .270. I am a user of heavy for caliber bullets. But I have absolutely no experience with the .270 so any tips or suggestions are gratefully accepted. The main game usage will be for mule deer and antelope.

Thanks man!
The .30-06 has been my go to cartridge from Arkansas to Alaska. Texas to Pennsylvania and every other state I've hunted for game in. And as it was the first center fire bolt action rifle cartridge I shot and then owned that cartridge is pretty special to me.
I am looking forward to hunting with this new (for me) .270. I do suppose in time it will become pretty special to me in its own way too.
