It's not exactly OP's water box, but this guy tested a round of .25 ACP ammo and found it went through four gallons of water before stopping.

Not to worry as he pointed out that the bullet didn't even open up. He would have been fine

Well he wasn't using his brain anyway, so he likely wouldn't have missed it.

He needed 4 layers of denim in front of the first jug.
