Looking back, over how I started

And what I've managed to do

I'd like to think that I've improved greatly. The problem is I don't know that if I can continue to produce this level of detail. The Sten is a relatively simple design, and I don't know if I can do such a good job with a revolver or another 1911 or anything else like that.

If I could make stuff like that I would make a dozen or so of the STENS and then build a case to make it kind of look like an armory and then hang them all on the wall.

New pictures!

Somebody actually commissioned this one. And it's carrying a price tag of $60.

Even though it's not a squared barrel, that looks amazing girl, you truly do have a talent that I cannot even grasp.

What's next Red, another pistol, subgun, or maybe branch out & do a shotgun or battle rifle?

Think about this; Christopher Reeve had a better case against horses than the Bradys do against guns. After all a horse has intelligence, free will, & mobility.
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, & you can bet they will be whining "Why didn't somone warn us?"

I'm planning to do the M79 grenade launcher.

Cool, personally I think almost everybody should have a 40mm grenade launcher.

It looks like the real thing, Redd! Are you also doing ammo for these prizes? Two or three 40mm shells would really set it off. Same for all the others. Way to go.

Looks good Red.

I just had a vision of years down the road & inquisitive grandchildren open up a trunk to find a wide selection of realistic wooden weapons. You'll be both the most popular & unpopular grandma in the neighborhood. The kids will love ya but the sheeple will be crapping themselves.

I'm looking for ideas what to make next. While another grenade launcher, or another submachine gun would be easy to work on, I'm looking for a new challenge. I want to branch out into rifles now.

The question is what to make?

The M1 series of rifles look very promising in terms of fun and learning. So does the Mini-14. Or should I try something more modern like the Kel-Tec RFB? The RFB might be a good pick since it's got a short overall length, so there'd be less chance of the wood I get to use being curved off to the side and screwing up the profile.

I realize making them is much harder than making suggestions but that's never stopped me before. I'd kind of like to see what you can do with say WWII light machine guns or Main Battle Rifles. Like I said making suggestions is easy.

I love the Papashaw...how about a 61mm mortar? with the base plate and all it would look pretty nifty with a few rounds sitting near it.

Now we know that if we don't hear from redd someday in the future she built the eight inch Howitzer replica in her front yard and somebody freaked out and ordered an air strike.

if you build a howitzer you should build a jeep to pull it with, or a tank.

An M1 Carbine is currently in production. Stock, handguard, oil bottle and barrel have been cut out, sanded and fitted together.

The front and rear sights, magazine, trigger assembly, charging handle, receiver and sling are currently being drawn up for construction, fitting and painting.
