I was asked to do a product evaluation of a set of SureSight pistol sights.

The fine folks at SureSight sent me a set of their sights that would fit a Springfield XD.

Here's a picture of the sights as they come from the company.

They were a very nice box along with detailed instructions on how to install the sights and how to use them.

The first thing to do was to remove the factory Springfield XD sights.

They are installed in a dove tail slot, both front and back.

We disassembled the pistol and placed the slide in a vice, with leather on each side to protect the slide.

We then drove out the rear sight with a punch and a hammer.

It was difficult, but not impossible to remove.

The SureSight rear sight went in snuggly, but without any problems.

Here's how the sights look on the pistol.

As you can see, the back sight is the base of a triangle and the front sight consists of the top of the triangle with a dot in the center.

The sights are painted a bright yellow color and they just "glow" in the sunlight.

They are not night sights, but still are very bright in low light.

Here's how they line up.

I set up a target at about 7 yards and shot some quick shots, and double taps at combat speed and distance.

The sights were easy to pick up and centered on the target quickly.
